Ian
Baxter is an instrumental artist,
He can often be found painting, drinking tea and bellowing Beach Boys songs at the top of his voice. Whilst his earlier efforts were (broadly) in a traditional post-rock vein he has recently started working with samples and loops. In December 2002 Quiet Records was born with his first official album release Four Ambient Pieces. In the spring of 2003 he supplied the music for a film by Luke Barley shown at the Germs 2003 festival. This can be heard on the Uranium EP. Ian's latest release on Quiet is a collection of shorter pieces called 'Blind Phase'. He has recently put out tracks on the 'afterglow' compilation by Durham based Octoberman. You can read all about Ian's exploits (and sometimes his music) on his blog 86400seconds. |
